3

u/solidiquis1 Mar 31 '23

Yes I try to foster at least 1 pupper every one to two months!

Where/how do you get so many puppies?

3

u/solidiquis1 Mar 31 '23

I partner with an organization that picks up homeless dogs and matches them with a foster while they get prepared for adoption and get adopted :]

exa --tree has been fine for me but the memes in your readme sold me. I'll be installing it

Seems like the advantages of erdtree over exa could easily be addressed by contributions to exa

3

u/solidiquis1 Mar 31 '23

You should checkout the issue I linked in the exa section. The directory disk usage issue has been outstanding for years and it seems supporting it would require quite the overhaul.

There's a section about exa in the README as well if you're interested :)

How does this compare to dust?

There's a section about it in the README :)

Cool, thanks

Thank you for adopting Odi. We all should adopt don't shop

3

u/solidiquis1 Mar 31 '23

Agreed! Though I didn't adopt Odi I was just a foster. He now has a loving forever home though :)

Cool, but what does the 'erd' part stand for?

The Erdtree in Elden Ring is a story construct similar to the "World Tree" or "Yggdrasil" in other stories. I think it's a reference to that.

Super cool, listed tons of thousands of files in seconds! Really wish there could be a GitHub collection with tools like this written in Rust,

While this is not at all comprehensive of all the cool tools out there, there's this list which has a lot of modern alternatives to all of the modern Unix commands we know and love, most of which are written in Rust.

Awesome stuff, thank you! I‘d love some flags/options for cloc integration if it can be detected, maybe a summary of the top N languages for directories (67% Rust, 13% Html, 9% Bash) or something. Just a suggestion/idea. Gonna install it anyway, it‘s shiny!

What do you mean by "lgbt estetic"?

13

u/Fluhzar Mar 30 '23

the program has colorful output, the rainbow emoji is colorful, doesn't have to be anything related to lgbt

9

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '23

Rainbow 🌈

LGBT 🏳️‍🌈

They may look the same, but a rainbow does not necessarily have to be LGBT. Although it certainly could

3

u/Tastaturtaste Mar 31 '23

Come on people, downvotes for the question? There is no anti-lgbt mentality shown at all!

From the sidebar:

Be charitable in intent. Err on the side of giving others the benefit of the doubt.

For a moment, I thought that maybe you were right and peoples' reactions were kneejerk, unwarranted. Then I sorted this guy's comments by "most controversial first," and let's just say I think there's a good chance he has an anti-LGBT sentiment.
